I think we should be careful of the temperature because this is rainy season and temperature at night can drop drastically. I am not sleeping in an air-condition room (just my ceiling fan) but will really feel the cold at 4-5 am (have to wake up and switch it off).
My Thai red tail female just perished this morning. So sad because was hoping her to give me one more batch of fries before she go. Anyway she's quite old. Been with me for several months judging her size at least 6-7 months when I got her. |

To Squareball, probably the female just gave birth before you bought it. I still don't understand why you choose the thin one? Never ever choose the thin one eventhough their look is nicer than others, you are taking risk upon choosing them and deliver them to your tank. Normally I'll quarantine them and adding a lot of salt to treat, no guarantee of healing, but this is the only way I do.
Receive order from my friend, may be need to order some guppy from Lai, anyone interested please leave me a msg. |

Dear Galactuz,
Epson salt is also use to help relieve constipation in human. You can get it from those shop selling 'organic product'. Dose of Discus is 1 tea spoon for every 10 gallon of water. I will redose it after water change to maintain the concentration. It has been recommended by many to use this if there is chances of indigestion in discus. I use this for 3 days before I threat them for internal parasite with Metro. My dose for discus is 10 milligram per litre of water ( 4 ft tank, 10 tables of 200 milligram each ). As this medicine is only effective for 8 hr. or so, I redose it every day after water change. Did it for 10 days continue, cure cases of white feases for discus. I was told this medicine is quite mild and not serious if overdose a bit. ( temperature has to be high as it do not dissolve in low temperature ). For discus, sometime we feed this medicine directly into the mouth of discus if its not eating and add to food if its eating. Done both and no problem. You should check out for more professional advise on this in the DHP site, http://article.discusnews.com/catago...shtml#diseases for more information. Cheers! BT Lee Quote:

a is the albino gene. Therefore causing the red eye. Normal guppy eyes is AA while albinism carrier is Aa. On the other hand b is the blond gene (guessing only not very sure myself) and r is actually the red/blue gene. rr will cause blue pigmentation therefore the superwhites will be a little bit bluish. RR on the other hand will cause red color. To create superwhites you'll be all aabbrr. AA will also cause the guppy greybody unless it is coupled with bb/gg which is the blond/gold body. But come to think about it there can be normal superwhites also. Aiyo pening liao. Anybody betui or not my postulation???? |

Squareball, the thin female was choosed by me? Well, then this might be my very very big mistake lor.. nvm, I ask Tony to replace you another one, ok!
Galactuz, aabbrr is in english translation; chinese is aa = albino, rr = real red eyes, bb = blue, gg = golden. The superwhite exist when both bb and gg merge = bbgg and superwhite is not limited to albino only, it's also exist in black eyes.. there even a superwhite tiger form exist, but I never seen it before, I got it from the books I sold to Helven. And to others who interested to get fish from Lai, I'll arrange a trip go to Penang to collect from them, however I need you guys to pay me in advance, I'm out of budget. |
