Do you mean Cardinal Tetras ? These are one of the most common fishes to be found anywhere. Bro, open ur eyes wide when u go visit the LFS. I'm sure CTY in Penang can help u get some.

Hihi be sure you know the difference between Neon Tetra and Cardinal Tetra. Ahem CC Cardinal Tetra is not as common as Neon Tetras leh. CTY?? The equipments are quite cheap but like me from KL to CTY just to get a few Tetras K.O. lo.

Extra Info: Tetras like slightly dim or you may say dark conditions. That's why they glow in the wild the 1st place. So make sure you don't put UV lighting etc and glare those poor fellas to their grave. If you have undergravel, make sure its black if not put some black paper to cover the surface of whatever cabinet/stand/rack the aquarium is siting on before you place it ontop.

Since you have a community tank, not sure if you can do this because the other fishes has other requirements. Anyway I'm not saying tetras have to live in the conditions I mentioned because you may have seen some swimming in the LFS display tank with Discus/planted tank etc. It's just their preference. Hope this helps.

Dude..... read the post carefully... the reply was directed to boeytan who is from Penang, who's asking you to go to CTY when you are originally from KL? I know Neons and Cardinals are different. Cardinals themselves are common enough and most Cardinals are indeed imported from Colombia.

I no sifu..... we all learning here...... ok lar.. I retract my statement..... Cardinals not as common as Neon... but common enough lar...
Maybe you guys have a problem in finding them 'cos the LFS you all go to don't dare to stock and think they are Neons which do tend to be a more sensitive fish then Cardinals.

Yeah CC we're all in the learning process. Maybe dom got frustrated not able to pick some hairgrass in Meru which got flooded and try to flame flame. Wahaha just joking nia dom. I sure can't fight your big fan ar. Don't bully small kids OK. Wanted to join the expedition but planted tank too much to handle maybe I'll consider it when I retire. But thats still a long way to go.

I didn't know Neon was more sensitive than Cardinal. In this case, better keep Cardinal then since the strips extends from head to tail compared to Neon only half way thru.

For anybody out there, Kin Fatt has Cardinal Tetra all year round. I think I've been seeing the tank for the past few years. Never went empty before.
