Default The Adventures of A Mass Murderer and A Proud Father

Here is how the story unfold.........

Two weeks ago I decided to rescape my tank and I took out some Pelia. With no place to put it, I decided to dump it in my window water fountain (aka: unused tank sitting around with water and doing nothing but breeding nyamuk). Watch TV and the forgotten Pelia is on the table drying up. After the show look at the poor semi dried Pelia and decided to tie it to some rock and dump it in the window tank. Since that day, I have never even look at that small tank by the window.

Untill..... 2 days ago. I notice there is blue green algae on the side of the tank. And lots of it. This is strange but I clean it off and let the Pelia tank to fend for itself.

Now, yesterday night while watching my fav TV show "Lost", I notice a slight movement by the corner of my eye. It came from the Pelia tank! What is it?!?

I started to move closer to have a look see. At first it look like a water flee swimming about. Then I switch on my standing light and ....Ahhhh!!!! A small fish!!! darting here and there. What the!!! it look like longkang fish but where did it came from? Then I notice it again... More movement on the left. Look see .. look see... 2 more mystery fish!! I search for more but can't find anymore. Strange.

Think...think...think.... Ahhh it must have been from my main tank and the Pelia must have some eggs on it right? and it hatch in my smaller tank. Since I only found 3 out of 100++ eggs, I realise I might have murdered them when I tie the Pelia to the rocks. Very Bad ... Very sad.... But Very Happy cause I have 3 little fish. They have Baby Blue eyes but no colour yet on the body. I feed them some small food which they took, but I belive they been feeding on water flees. Now I wonder what baby fish is it? In my main tank I have Glowlight Tetra, Rummy Nose Tetra, Neon Tetra and Longfin Danios. I wonder and wonder.....

So it comes to the end of my adventure as a Mass Murderer and a Proud Father (some tetras or danios might later contest for the Father title) of 3 unknown baby fish.

Will update soon.

Frankie

Man, reading your post halfway, I got the creeps (no pun intended). I thought you managed to grow some kind of strange creature. I always have a fear for dark, murky water that's left unattended - might sprout some living organism with no legs, hands or eyes.

I think most of planted tank hobbyist always throw away unwanted plant with fish eggs or very small fries without notice. I noticed this few times already. Now I never throw away any plants immediately or just give to some friends. I will keep them for a while and after a week or 2, at least.

Recently I found some small lamp eye fires in my spare tank with some excess plant already... at least I do not "murder" them...

Sometimes when I trim my plants, the Yamatos want to follow the plant as well... now I dump into a pail first and double check... once I even got an 'Oto' ikan kering...
