Default Guppies eating cichlid pellets

I was at the petstore looking at fish and an employee was feeding a certain type of cichlids guppies and cichlid pellets and a guppies that weren't eaten were eating the cichlid pellets. I was shocked because guppies aren't cichlids but they were eating cichlid pellet food.

Well, cichlid pellets do not have ingredients that will harm other fish. Just that the formulation is different to perhaps enhance the growth and colours of cichlid fishes. I have been feeding tetrabits (with a picture of a discuss fish on the pack) to my cichlids. For the guppies, they will probably benefit from the higher protein and colour enhancing ingredients from the pellets. So, no problem. Unless the guppy chokes on the pellets or cannot digest (depending on the size).

Or u can blander the pellet in2 micro pellet.I feed my guppy with micro pellet and Hikari Lionhead(Goldfish food).I just blander the goldfish the pellet in2 micro pellet.
Sometimes over left Tetra bits from my discus tank, just scoop out and give to my guppies.
My fishes loved it.

Hahah, PP, I was confused at first also. I think what he said was:

1. Pet shop owner feed cichlid pellets and guppies to large cichlid (guppies here is the food for the cichlids)
2. some guppies were not eaten by the cichlid
3. So, the guppies eat the cichlid pellets
