most important is use aged water, dont use water direct from hose...

when u introduce new fish, make sure you adjust the pH and temperature for both waters are at about the same level before introducing new fish into new tank.

How do you make "aged water"? What i mean by that is how do you know you have enough to fill your tank? How do you guys do it?

Aged water simply means filling a bucket, pail, large tong with tap water and leave it alone. After a couple of days, there will be no chlorine in the water. A faster way is to add an air pump to agitate the water. Chlorine goes off faster.

How much is enough? The next time you change water, siphon the tank out into a large pail. Once you have siphoned enough, that's how much you will need to fill up the tank. Collect aged water 2x, 3x or 4x the amount.

You can have more then 10 guppies in a 10 gallon tank. They breed like crazy so chances are you will end up with more anyway if they are provided with plants. Guppies are great community fish and get along with just about all other small community fish so long as they are not fin nippers.
