Default Breeding

Hello,

I just come back from Penang to buy few strain guppy stock for my
breeding project.

I purchase 2 pairs of the red tail and trio RREA.

But my 2 male red tail is death. I'm not sure what the cause. I has checked
the water Ph is the same level ph water in Penang. after transfer these fish
to bigger tank , I'm noticed that these fishs swimming a top of the water.

In such case , if mixed the water with yellow powder did this counter measure
work?

You need to check this out. 1st, when do you measure the pH, measure upon purchase? or at home before deliver the fish to your tank?

2nd, is about the packaging (I meant the plastic bag)? Do you serve extra care during transportation in order to reduce the stress, which probably happen during this arrangement?

and, friend... I would advice you not to apply any treatment to this fish, nothing can help unless you return back them to the original water.

This is my best advice upon long distance deliver, collect extra original water and always use the biggest plastic bag to keep the fish in minimum stress. And, don't immediately introduce the fish into you new water, you have to keep the fish in the original water and slowly introduce new water into it. When I say slowly, mean that you really need to take two or three days to do it.. After all, I shall assure you 90% safe of the fish, the 10% left is your new water condition and how you work on it to maintain. Ok!

And one more thing, please check water temperature as well.. remember, tolerance allow is +/-2, temperature, pH, kH, and so on..

Dear Ng,

If not mistaken we meet before. I'm Sahari friend . You know him?
Last week we went to Sg.Bakap to purchase few strain from your recommended friend Choon Lee.

Yes , we did tested the water Ph. after we collected the fish at Sg.Bakap,we repacked back the fish by add in a oksigen and store in the polybox. All together about 8 pakced in two polybox. Lee also did supplied us a replacement water from him farm.

Went I do the transfer to the new tank I discover these fish is stress. I did Mixed the water with yellow powder as recommanded by one breeder in Kuang
to cold down the fish went they stress. It work after 15 min , the fish look
cold down.

We has taken take all aspect step and counter measure as advise and tips from Lee how to take care this fish. But after few days one by one our fish death. We still in dark what is gone wrong. Currently the only survival is 3 female RREA,1 red tail dan 1 female red tail.

All together we did purchase from Lee 24 male/female RREA, 2pairs of double
swordtail,2pairs of red tail and 12 male/female akua guppy.

In Penang we did purchase few strain with the guppy breeder over there.

How is latest progress on the Guppy Fan Club. Looking forward to join in the
club.

B.Regards.

Oh.. my god! I should advice Sahari on how to keep this fish... is my mistake. Ok, here my advice to you guys. As what I experienced b4, Lee farms guppy lived in pH5.5 ~ pH6.0 water condition and he fed them with live foods.. Ok, you guys cannot direct introduce this fish to your new water, you need to keep them in their original water mixed with new water, ratio is 8:2 for the 1st day, 2nd day, remove 30% water and add in new water and original water in 50/50 basis. 3rd day as 2nd day.. and following day, if the fish ok, check pH rate (now should be around pH7), time to introduce them to your new water! By the way, you will lose some of them during this period, I can't help..
