Default Cherry Shrimps

Hi,

I've juz bought 10 red cherry shrimps frm DragonLor. Wonder r these shrimps easy 2 breed in temperatures as high as 30-32 celcius. Im currently using the CO2 system system from Nutrafin,Hagen (the kind of fermentation CO2). Muz i pluck it out at night? Will it lower the pH of my tank and kill the shrimps?

Pls Reply
Shaun

As long as there's no overdose of CO2, the shrimps should be OK. Any yeast setup for CO2 CAN NEVER OVERDOSE on CO2, so its a non issue. Anyway for precaution, should you see your all shrimps and fishes starts to climb up the tank and staying there, then it means that there's insufficient O2 and the way to treat this to put in an airstone to oxidize, but then again, never come across this scenario in yeast CO2.

Shaun,

The temp of yr tank is kinda high for the shrimp to breed. My cherry shrimps breeding non stop in temp of 25-26. (An AC fan running 24 hours.) The nutrafin CO2 wont overdose like Kimco said. But...if the mixture run into the tank. Then your shrimps gonna be drunk!

Is there any filter running inside yr tank?

Wow...are you placing the tank outdoor? (Remember a member complaining his tank with 30-32C also. found out his tank located at car porch.)

Beside blowing aircon on it or using the chiller. May be you can take the tank water...frozen it into ice cube. Then throw few pieces everyday. So that, yr shrimps wont get temperature shock and the chlorine problem.

I got tanks inside and outside the house. The tank tat is outside the house especially the one below my main 4ft tank has water temp at about 30C. No plants inside it. On the other side i have tanks in the first hall...temp is 32C
Bad house planning...no air circulation...Fan...? I got a 120mm DC fan...works like a charm...water now broght to 28C...cant go any lower liao...unless use chiller which is totally absurd to get...

Dunno about shrimps...bought 50++ now i only see about erm 16 or so...

To use an airconditioner to blow ur room and chill ur tank is also not making any sense especially if you are not a Datuk's son. Well u can temper with the meter gadget but u might get caught...and may end up in jail Use methods that you can afford and when its also legal...On the other hand if you are a Datuk's son, by all means...do get an airconditioner and let it run 24hrs...

Nowadays, being a dato's son does not guarantee riches for ever. You'll only be that if the Dato's not caught! Look at the papers, Not all dato's are clean or legal

i think the pH of the water is important too. i keep my cherries at room temperature. they are breeding well, i got many batches of cherry in less than 3 month's time.
