Default little bluey

here is my indo blue...stil small, but moulted twice already, and feeds on dried krill, crayfish pellets (the hikari crab cuisine) and vege tablets..his name is of course, Bluey.. actually he is bigger than shown in the pic but bcos he tends to fold his legs in and curl his body to make himself smaller..

Ah, cute fellow.

What? Black crayfish? Wah, nice man. I've seen some pictures from other forums... RM35 ok lah... last time you saw Orange Crayfish? I was too late so couldn't buy... also RM35 and is really orange colour.

I can't take a nice pic of mine yet lol... now got a pic of their tank, which is actually a storage box. No money to get another tank ahhah....

hey dude, your storage box is giving my brains a good shake... I got a lot of storage boxes too...didn't think of that before...gonna empty all the useless stuff out tmr and put my cray in....then I'll have room to get another...hopefully the black!

but there's one thing im scared...if the black cray died of old age not long after i keep it...kinda waste of money huh....coz it's a pretty big cray...bout eight inches le...

Neways, im opting for the zebra cray first...

Your indo blue will turn into grey or brown cray later on. This is due to the farm injected the color or feeding with the hormon pellet. I kept 2 of them before.

I had 2 Australia blue crays. The pair bot from AI...RM100 each. The female was fight with another small normal brown cray. (was kept in 6 footer tank.) But then...she lost n died. damn damn..

The male...losing somewhere inside my 4ft planted tank. I had pairs of zebra, pink, black..etc cray. they will escape n climb out out the tank at nite. To prevent they escape. try to locate a plate of water somewhere near the tank. Then you will find them resting inside the plate on next morning.

If yr toilet/bath room nearby...then you will find them inside there.

Just saw Pet Safari selling Australian Marron crayfish, RM110 each but so damn blue and nice size... sigh... not the price for me at the moment as I got too many mouths to feed now hahahaha....

Dom,
Isn't the indon blue called a Yabby (Cherax destructor)? Coz I checked with some websites, can't find any reference with indon blue. I got only Tiger Zebra and Louisiana Crayfish, which that is all I can find so far lah...

Storage box idea came to me after reading some forums and websites on crayfish care. As long it has a water filter, gravel and some water plants with a few feeder fishes, it is a good home for them. Need to provide hiding places, that's where the flower pot and cup comes in. I'm gonna add a few rocks in the middle for them to climb and sit to prey on fish hahaahh
