Default Arrgggh!. Yamatos eating cherries shrimps

I got a nasty shock just a few minutes ago when I looked into my shrimp tank. One of my Yamatos was eating a cherry shrimp. Definately out of the tank for the yamatos..... I do have some cherry shrimplets in there, and I wonder how many have become dinner for the Yamatos!.

In the first picture, another yamato (blur image on the left) is chasing the one eating-trying to get the cherry....

That IS a nasty shock. However, it is possible that the cherry shrimp was already dead before the yamato started on it. As far as I know, yamatos are scavengers - they'll eat what's already dead but they wouldn't set out to hunt down their food to eat while it is still alive.

yeah, so far i have some feeder shrimps in the 4ft planted community tank, and yamatos too...
Doesn't have any problem, they just eat anything that is left...
The feeder shrimps are more agressive towards food as in, when they see the algea pallet or pallet food drown, they will quickly go and snatch the food, they even try to get those food floaint on the water surface, or snatch from other fish like my poor albino cory...

ON the other hand, yamatos are tame and peaceful...

Default Myth or fact?

I'm starting to think that it may be true. Yamatos may eat RCS/CRS and other smaller shrimps. How this happens is when the RCS/CRS are moulting. When this shrimps are moulting, they appear and act like they're dead, immobile, soft shelled and extremely vulnerable. Could it be that these Yamatos may be pounding the moulting shrimps into mush while their shells are still soft from moulting? The reason I say this is my CRS and RCS have totally dissapeared without a trace in my tanks with a dozen yamatos. Yamatos seem happy as always.. almost too happy..

I recently read on another forum that this could be happening to another guy.. is this myth or fact?
