kheun,
If your BCS is same size with normal red cherry. It is the injection or hormone pellet. Because I had seen farm doing it. It is just the same with the blue shrimp which available in market last year. If it is smaller than red cherry, then it is the Malayan shrimp which is natural color. And the Malayan shrimp will change color in different water parameter and temperature.

Pilik-palak,
The shrimp which you saw in fast flowing stream with 1 size big claw is crayfish. Check on www.shrimpnow.com for the scientific name. This kind of 'shrimp' (crayfish) surviving in fast flowing water with high level of oxygen. And the temperature must below 26C.
They are in many colors. Personally I have caught some in black, dark blue, brown, red, yellow and green.

Normally the shrimps which we are keeping for planted tank are with an even pairs of claws. Which is smaller size than crayfish.

Hi Dom,
I hv something not really understand about the BCS.
Hope u can help me to solve it out.
Firstly, the BCS is same size with mature RCS.
The colour of BCS from my observation:
the middle-line running from head down to tail is clearly visible.
transparent+a bit light grey when I newly bought. (I'm not sure how old the shrimp when I bought )
Dull grey or brown when getting bigger + a little bit transparent.
The shrimp is black in colour as the pic I shown.
May I know will the colour of shrimp changed during growing?
Do u hv any blue shrimp info? I hope to learn more on that.
Thank you for ur sharing.
