Just want to share with you all,lamp eye is like those guppy,they are live bearer,but once you see there is some fry in your tank.....better take out the bigger fish......if not...hehehe...u know la......their fry is very easy to keep....normal tetra food will do....

can't seem to get more info abt lamp eye from the net. What is the common and scientific name?

lamp eye is something like "long kang" fish but the shape is abit different and they come in blue neon eyes.very beautiful fish and they like to group together.from the family of killie

Norman's Lamp-eye are a type of killie fish. They have eggs so they're not livebearers.
Dom has got a spawn. I am aiming for one too.

There are about 7 similar killies under the Poropanchax family.

PS. Don't confuse these with Lamp Eye Tetra Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae -red upper eyes, black band on tail, which likes to eat some plants.

a member in here who successful bred it told me lamp eyes is liverbearer.

i know that there is a lamp eye tetra or red eye tetra and there is lamp eye ciclids or killies, forgot liao. But i can't seem to find any info on a lamp eye live bearer. I saw it in WTF. Thought it was beautiful...even wanna get rid of my existing schooling fishes to get this...hahaha... any takes for rummy noses, white clouds, neons, platies etc?

i found that lamp eye and red nose is good in school......i mean grouping....but red nose is a fast swimmer......thats what i dont like about

thks cminghan for the lamp eyes. could tell that there were some blue in their eyes but not very obvious yet. perhaps the new residents need to get used to their new environment and that they are similiar to rummy nose when stressed - lose all colours...

yeah...true true,when they are stable,you will find the blue eye,when they come to adult size....might see yellow tail with brown spotted
