Question Mollie Pregnancy

I have one black mollie that has been poppin' out some fry now for the past few hours. I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but how long will my mollie be in labor for? I really wasn't planning on breeding her, it just kind of happened. Does anyone know if pet stores where will take baby fish/fry?

We have about 30 fry and that will be too many for our 10 gal. tank. They are protected right now in a mesh breeding area, but 'am afraid they will get big quick with no room to grow. I would buy a new tank, but I'm in college and have no room for anything bigger in my apartment, especially since I move around every year. Please help! ) Thanks so much...

Any indie mom&pop small LFS would take your fry although they won't pay U anything for it.

Mollies breed easily. So, probably not the best fish for U unless U keep just males. --

Default didn't know

when i got these fish, i didn't know anything about them except that i thought they were "cute" and then realized that there was one silver male and a black female. then all of a sudden we had one baby. since yesterday evening that number has proceeded to grow to about 30 fry. oops! thanks.

Default Molly fry

I've few molly fries but it's all gone now. i'm not sure why they were so weak although i fed them. it's not that easy to take care of molly fry compare to guppies.

cheers!

u can try to keep the mollies
coz shops wont pay u for it
and some shops will just take them and neglect them
i dont know bout some ppl but my baby mollies are growing
u must have lots of plants for them
and i did not seperate them from the adults since birth
however, if u have seperated them edi, do not mix them again
if u mix them now, most probably the adults will just eat them
u can try selling to the shops when they are big
but it will be easier if u know them (ur regular LFS)
i tried keeping them in a small aquarium but failed
the ur 10 gallon should be no problem
u can feed them the SERA powdered food
im currently keeping my mollies in a 10 gallon tank
its quite successful
so u can also give it a try

Wink Babies

I have 5 dalmation molly fry in my tank right now. My female is small so she only had 10 and these are the ones I have left. The others I gave away to my friends from school. They are almost 2 months old now. After they are born, its survival of the fitest. Some will grow bigger and some smaller. Out of my 10 only 1 died. pet stores that are big companies like PetSmart or Pet-co have a policy and can't take any fish of your hands. Hope you can find homes for all of the little guys> They will eat flakes and don't need any special food. Make sure you have hiding places in the tank for them. Hope they are healthy! -mandy-
