Hi,
I have a pregnant swordtail female. I dont know anything about Swordtails, mainly Bettas and Gouramis. I bought her from the pet store that I work at because she is HUGE, and I didn't want the fry to be sucked through the filter which is what happens to most of them I have fry food, but how do I know when she is going to pop those babies out? Right now she is about as thick as my thumb, and the dark spot on her abdomen is about 3/4 of an inch long. Thanks for your help! -Kristy |

I have never had that problem with my fry. They are too big to get sucked up. If they don't have hiding places they will swim in the open at a young , weak age and get sucked up. Make sure they can hide. Mine always hide in the pebbles.
