Default Pregnant Molly

I bought a Silver Molly yesterday (10-23) and was told at the petstore she was pregnant. They didn't tell me how long it'd be before she had the fry or how to tell, although she looks as if she could pop! I have never had a livebearer before, or baby fry. Just wondering if there are any signs that she will be having them and how to properly take care of the fry.

Talking Opinion

U try observe the end of the abdoman. u will notice a patch of darker color ( tats the eye of the fry)

If u seen it, leave it in the community tank for about 1~2week.

then find a 1 feet tank ( or container) place the pregnant female there.
observe it daily. when u saw the fry, remove the mother ( the mother will feast on the young.

Hope this will help =P

Oh dun forget to get some real bushy plants and dump it in the spare tank.
Well if u think u dun wanna get a spare tank, then just get more of those fine leaved bushy plants in there...some cover fo the kiddies...

But if u have barbs and cichlids in there...most likely the kiddies will get eaten

If you can't get a new tank right now their are also containers you can by at LFS that are designed to hang on the back of the tank you can put the mother in their and when she has the fry they drop down in to another part so she can not eat them. Then when she is done you can take her out and leave them in their for a bit till they get a little bigger. Plants are also really helpfull you can get wisteria or another plant to float on the top for them to hide in.
