Default Unexpected pregnancy!!

Just a day ago, I bought a dalmation molly, not knowing she was pregnant. But lo and behold, an hour later, she was giving birth to like 20 frys!! I had no idea she would have them, let alone that there would be 20 of them, and I really don't know where to put the frys! I separated my balloon bellied molly in a small two gallon tank because I thought he might eat the babies. The mother seems to completely ignore them, is this a cause for concern? And about how big of an aquarium do I have to buy for the molly mother and her 20 frys? Please please help me, I'm in a real pickle here!!

Default Thinking of adopting some

Hi there milkyway,

If u don mind, may be can post an advertisement inside here letting people to adopt the fries. I'm sure that is good idea rather leaving them to live in a small swimming area. It may disturb the growth of the fish itself.

Or you can buy a large plastic basin, put some aquatic plants, fill it in wit water until half full. Put the fish in the new habitat and feed twice a day with the tiny crushed fish food and egg yoke. I'm sure you will enjoy to see the growing progress of ur fish. I'm sure u will enjoy it been the Godfather of the fries and after a few months can put them into the main aquarium. Try this.

Either that or you can use them as feeders

I much prefer devarios, and barbs...they attack like torpedoes...

Wah, Wackopleco,

So cruel, Well I think better release them to the public pond then. At least they have plenty of space to swim and enjoy the life in the world for awhile before the bigger fish cannibalise them.

use them as feeder like plecowacko say. Putting them into a public pond will not help at all as they will breed and in the end the whole pond will be filled with them.

Yes its cruel but do you think of our local fish in the pond its people like you that put everything you dont want into OUR pond and kill of the local species.

Have you evr thought about the local fish?? They need our help. So mollies like these are not worth anything to save, give them to someone if you like but DO NOT POLLUTE OUR PONDS WITH THEM.Bad enough we can find unwanted canna, cichlid and other Canvorious fish in it now you are going to put mollies in to feed them.

THINK OF OUR NEXT GENERATION. If you do not want babies why buy female fish buy just the male LA.

Agreed. I was somewhere and found most of the betta was disappeared. Then the stream/pond was full with the channa. Kinda sad of those real cruel ppl simply release the not the native fishes into local public pond/stream.

MilkyWay

I would find another forum. I posted here needing some serious advice and not only did no one reply but then you asked what to do with your babies and they tell you to feed them to bigger fish.

I am removing myself from this forum because it appears here that no one cares or they have no idea what they are talking about.

Email me and I will tell you the ones I have gone to and had great help. A place where people really care about fish.
