Weird habit...
About three months ago I purchased a female molly from the petstore. Currently, she is living by herself in a 5 gallon tank because she seems to like solitude (she would always nip agressively at the other fishes' fins and chase them around when I used to keep her with other mollies.) Anyway, I noticed that she has this habit of waiting for her food flakes to drift to the bottom of tank, on the gravel, and then she gobbles them up. But when they first float at the top, she completely ignores them. So I always have to poke at the flakes so they float down and she will eat them. (I'm worried she'll starve if I don't.) Oh and I assure you, it probably IS NOT because she isn't feeling well. She's always zooming around the tank, looks perfectly healthy and happy, et cetera. So anyway, my question is, is this a cause for concern? Or is this just a harmless habit? And could you please give any ideas as to why she does this?
