You mean the pump rate increased to 3000 l/hr? When you said inside skimmer, mine is hang on type, will they work the same? towards the neck of the cup refer to above the cup base or just there?

Sorry, need to know more

ok the pump brand is aquanic 3000 series (made in japan )i brougth it at Rm95.00. i used the same skimmer like you, weipro 2012,hang on type,ok.

this pump power consumption is very low, only 35 watt.

hope it will improve your skimming.

No experience in Weipro skimmers, but generally, bubbles inside skimmer must be so thick that you CANNOT see through it. If you can see your hand on the other side, than most likely, you need to improve on your pump or other adjustments.

Once that is achieved, you water level INSIDE the skimmer should be just high enough such that you do not get "WET" bubbles in your collection cup. All the bad stuff is in the "DRY" bubbles.

Try to keep to these basic skimmer concepts, and you should be able to adjust ANY skimmers!!!

Sorry for your lost, but don't be too quick to put all the blame on just the skimmer. Though it is one of the most important equiptment, you can also successfully keep a tank without a skimmer!!! Thus, I suspect that there might be some other issues to be addressed, e.g. tank size, age, and setup, and also water condition.

Default Weipro SA-2012

I too had the same problem, I am using a Boyu Sump pump with 1100 liter/hour capacity. The Weipro box says to use 1600 liter/hour capacity. When I leave the water level at the mark indicated on the cylinder, the foam is just not high enough to reach the collection cup. So I raised it to the neck level at the bottom of the collection cup, by turning the valve at the output very slowly, and now the foam is rising to the top of the rising curved tube. This is the best adjustment I think. I will know in a day or so if the collection is happening or not. Will keep you all posted.

By the way, this is my first 2 minutes after registering at this site. I found this by doing google search on weipro 2012. Amazing to know that internet can bring us all with same problem together. This is my first marine tank and I will need a lot of help. Just added 2 clowns and carpet anemone, 2 tube worms and a live coral 2 days ago. Have my fingers crossed !!!

Glad that I found this thread. Just bought a Weipro SA-2012 skimmer yesterday. I set the water level to the mark on the casing. I thought ...wow. the skimmer very canggih. water level so low still can skim. hehehe.
After reading this thread, realised my mistake. Have re-set the water level just below the cup. Hopefully it will start skimming soon.

One question, I am usibng a 1100 liter/hr pump ( the pump for my old skimmer Jebo hang-on type), Is this pump output sufficient for this skimmer?

The skimmer packaging says that I need a 400 gallon/hr pump.
