Default Weipro Protein Skimmer

I just bought a Weipro 2013 skimmer and its been running for about 5 days without any sign of foam production whatsoever. On the skimmer there is a mark which says KEEP WATER LEVEL. I set the air/water level at this mark. Is it the correct way as the mark seems to be too low down?

If the skimmer is an in sump model, the keep water level means that the skimmer needs to be sitting in the water and not have the water higher or lower than the mark......this means the water on the outside of the skimmer, not the water inside the skimmer.

What EMT_Cop says is right, the line is for the external water level only. For the inner water level, it should be adjusted to the base of the riser neck in the collection cup. This can be easily done by adjusting the outlet pipe's valve. However, if your pumo is rightly sized, there's not much fiddling to be done. If you find that you need to close off the valve more then 30%, your pump is already under-sized.

Default WEIPRO Skimmer

I used 2 weipro 2014 for my 150G tank for almost 2 years. Just set the water level to just below the collection cup. Skimmer is too important in a marine tank. So my advise is to get another skimmer.

I am using a weipro 2012 and ataman pump 2000 l/h. Not much foam but working. Looking high and low for solution to improve the skimming.

One theory is to remove the sponge from the outlet which I did but not much different. Adjusted the knob and it is almost 40% where the water line is just near the base of the collection cup.

Chuisui no body is talking about weipro nor weipro site because the last query wasn't even responded.

I guess all weipro users need to join hand to help each other. I am thinking of adding one more air tube to my ataman pump (It does come with this provision). That is, my weipro will have two air intake instead of one.

Thumbs up

hi,
i also encounter the same problem with the weipro skimmer, my is 2012 with a 1500 aquanic pump and not foam collected after many days.so i change to aquanic3000 and raise the water level( inside skimmer ) toward the neck of the connected cup. boy,the scumb is thick greenish and smelly in the cup and beneath it as well.

trust me it work prefectly.

triggermen.
