Hi all, I have set up a new marine aquarium and am performing weekly tests on my aquarium using test tubes. I noticed there are probes for monitoring ph etc electronically. But instead of buying all these devices seperatley
Is there an electronic monitoring system available that can give me digital monitoring of all parameters such as
ph, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, calcium hardness , temperature etc.

I basically want to be able to look at a screen or display and it will tell me all of these parameters, or alternatively plug into a computer and get a data log of all parameters. This would be great. Is this possible or anyone know of eqiupment that can do this.

PH, Temp yes.
NO2, No3 ammonia no. probably lab test equipment - expensive

Cal- u can try pinpoint brand or go to reef depot in SRC

2 brands i know has many controllers and monitors in 1, but not sure if they have the stuff u want.

The cheapest electronic test kit is PH test pen (RM140 - 180) and that is all you really need. The other electronic test kit that you want will cost you an arm and a leg.

1. PH - get the pen type but u need to buy the ph solution to calibrate it. (ph 7.01 & ph 4.01)

2. Ammonia (NH) >> Nitrite (No2) >> Nitrate (No3) I know you can't wait to put in fish & corals but you really need to wait for good bacteria to colonized your tank. Let me tell you how to cut the waiting time to half. Just test the No2 if its going down to 0 or 0.1, change 20% to 40% water to reduce No3 and buy Algone and put it in. No need to test for NH, No2, and No3 no more. Replace Algone every week for a month, every 2 weeks for 3 month and once every month.

3. Temperature - Can get that at any Aquarium shop. Not more than RM 40.

4. Ca & Kh - Just use the normal solution type will do. Just test it before you put in coral and a week after you put it in. That is to let you know how much Ca your coral consume in a week and how much Ca you need to add in. After a month or 2 of testing, you just need to add in Ca. No more testing is needed. Get Kent brand product because it is more concentrated.
