Do any of you guys notice that skimmer works more at night? I wonder if it got to do with Ph.

No I dont notice it but I have a question for you regarding skimmer do you turn it on 24/7?

You did water top-up at night???
That maybe be the cause....

Every tank has its optimal skimming time. Mine is early evening, then again in the morning right before the lights come on.

Yes, leave your skimmer on 24/7. I actually run 2 skimmers on my tank, that way when Im cleaning one then I still have a skimmer going till it gets back up and really collecting skimmate. I alternate my skimmer cleanings.....Im cleaning a skimmer 4 days out of the week, but I dont have to worry about accumulating proteins.
