You'll be surprised to learn that I don't have a marine tank and therefore no prior experience with using any sort of additives.

All my knowledge are based frm taking a keen interest in this hobby, much reading and occasional chats with marine hobbyist getting experience, thru THEIR experience!

I know that Seachem is a good product. Most are but if I have an opportunity to keep one, I'd start with Kent Marine's additives. They seem to be the ones my friends use in the States. Regular strontium, magnesium, iodine probably all brands carry, but for soft coral, Kent has the Chromaplex and Phytoplex that provides plankton for the corals survival.

PS - I keep a planted tank, one tropical fish tank, and some guppies for breeding.

Total tank volume is 260 gallons

Ive upgraded since I had posted here last.

I have the tank plumbed through my living room floor, to the basement where I have an 80 gallon refugium. I have it set up so that I can do a water change of 60 gallons in less than 5 minutes (drain and fill, mixing SW time isnt included in that) with just turning a couple ball valves.

If you have such a keen interest in reefing, why not keep a tank?
