Talking Discus Fish Aquarium's

To all discus fish owners:

This blog is to provide information on purely discus fish and their levels of care, their habits, their behavior, and of course personal tips, positives, negatives, and whatever you can think about.

I began this blog because I have recently become a discus fish owner and have been amazed by the level of care and techniques I have found and figured out myself on making these amazing creatures comfortable.

I've kept many various fish and different fish tanks, but never made it to saltwater simply because of cost. I have found that the best advice for keeping different fish comes from successful owners.

Back to Discus fish, the many things I have done to keep these fish happy has been overwhelming and I wanted to create a space that discus owners could post their tips and stories!

I hope everyone can find helpful information as this blog develops!

Default Feeding

The most difficult thing I have found with keeping Discus fish is getting their feeding habits in sync.

I watched a local fish store owner feed his by hand and that has worked out very well. I have a cone feeder, but usually the other fish in my tank will nipple the food away before the discus are ready to feed from it. (This has been useful in keeping the food from settling on the bottom, making my tank much cleaner).

If anyone has any feeding tips, I would appreciate them!
