Broken fin. Perhaps, infected by fin root. Try to get Melafix from lfs. follow the instruction to dose it daily. (Melafix is not harm to any other fishes or plants. can be used in marine as well.)

omg... where i can get that produc? they should be fine after? and does the fin root infect other fishe?

edit: i did some research on product "melafix" it says the following
* Heals open wounds and ulcers
* Rapidly restores damaged fins
* Stops mouth fungus
* Treats fin and tail rot
* Treats eye cloud
* Does not affect pH
* Safe for snails and other invertebrates in fresh and salt water
* Safe for live aquarium plants
* Will not harm the biological filter.

so it will only heal the fish but it doesn kill the bacterial in the tank?

brother,for my experince,angel fish fin is just like human hair,sometime they will split when they get bitten or bang on something.normally when the root of the fin is band....there is no cure...just let it be,some time it might look nice

Melafix wont kill any bacteria in planted tank. I was using it in my 6ft fully planted. I was having this kind of problem before. Until the fin broken and the angel died. So... i dont wanna take the risk for my other angel. just spend around rm20 to get a small bottle.

fin root will infect other fishes. normally a bigger or better lfs selling this kind of medic.

ok i am back from buying product... they gave me a product called "polyguard" it says it is a dye based broad spectrum therapeutic and phophylatic agent for freshwater fish to protect against protozoa, backteria and fungi.

i am not sure if that product has negative effect for my fish.. so anyone can descrip me more that product?

Talking opinion

from my point of view. the damage of your angel is cause by the drift wood.
When it got shock or retreat, it hurt itself..jz an opinion

Pardon me for being busy body.

Take immediate action to see if fin rot is the cause especially the pectorial fin.

I have 4 angel I bought about 4 months ago, all grew very well and attained adult size within 3 months.
As a result of their apparent health, I overlook them and did not take careful look at them regularly.
I now discovered that they all have serious fin rot and the pectorial fin has been so damaged that it has deformed.
So, don't be decieved by the look becuase they may be very healthy dispite their fin being attached by rot.

Just my share of experiece/mistake.

Cheers!

BT Lee
