Hey, I have an archer fish that has a greyish bloch in what's usually the white area. He doesn't have it all the time. The other Archer has it sometimes in the morning (like for just a few minutes after I turn on the light). I don't understand. Is the little guy stressed out?

Well, yesterday I was thinking that the discoloration during the day might be related to stress. So I put some extra stress coat and aquarium salt in the tank and but in a bubbler. I don't know which one did the trick, but the little guy's color got a lot better within an hour or two.
However, I still find them both discolored in the morning. I'm thinking it's normal. I remember when I had saltwater fish their colors seemed to dull if I turned the light off for awhile. (like overnight) But then the color would come back after the light was back on. How long does it take your neons to get their color back? |

Hi, I think they become pale once the light was off aft 3am & recover back aft 9am when the surrounding environment becomes brighter. Also I notice that they dun take food during this period. I feed twice a day, once bef I go to work at 8am & another at around 8pm. Only my molly & guppies will eat in the morning, neons will not eat & can be seen to be very inactive. But at nite, they will have a very good appetite.
