Default Dying slowly due to starvation?

Recently iI've noticed my golden algae eater getting thinner and thinner and now it looks like a big headed fish(body too small).
what's wrong with it? It looks like it gotten thinner due to starvation.

and also what does a clown loach eats? Mine always stay in an plastic cave that is there to provide shelther for other fishes but that loach of mine looks like its camping in that small cave forever.
wonder what it eats.

Clown loach eat shrimps and snails
get a packet of feeder shrimps and feed ur loach

wat other fishes do u keep your loach with?
clown loach will only come out to play if it sees other fishes swimming around happily

oh and for clown loaches, its better to have 3 of them or more

keeping one will make it feel lonely

babypups, there is no such thing clownloach will feel lonely.

Excript, check your water parameter like PH, KH and temperature. these 3 are important to fishes. My algae eater fat like crazy. My SAE also... fat till cant really swim.

or else, try to feed some algae waffer which you can get from lfs. which is the food for pleco or cory.

true loaches like to be in group, will die easily if alone....coz to shy to come out and eat.and they are sensative to water condition too

I'm having Cardinal Tetras with a loach. Got one only because I've heard that they're aggresive if they're comfortable in the tank. That loach of mine will only come out from its cave and roam around whenever there's no one near. Once I approach the tank, it will run and hide again

A question, what has the water KH and PH got to do with the size od the SAE..just wondering. My other fishes are doing alright except for that SAE which i had noticed a huge difference in size.
Will check the water parameters later.
thanks dom

SAE very sensitive water parameter. High PH will kill it. First it will stop eating...and jsut like your CAE... then die.

All my SAE kicking in PH 6.2. They do eat well. living well. So, they grow fast and fat.

Ai ya..the clown loach. i kept one before. just in my planted tank alone with the rest of tetra. it will kicking like gila. grow fast... till 4inch n I gave away. (I am u can keep just only 1 clown loach or any loach with other fish.) Who will just keep a loach in a tank?

If you think your algae eaters are starving try giving them algae wafers you can get them at you LFS. This will help them, but what they do not eat or leave take out.
