one word, monster. grew until my pond oso no space for it. it was 10 feet wide and 10 feet long, 10 feet deep. T.T .. shift house and sold it off to someone. no time to go buy food. everyday ate around 1 1kg tilapia = rm 5 1 day sometimes i give it chicken.

Wow. Any pics? The only times I've seen an Arapaima was at the Kelana Seafood Centre (in a small pond, not on the menu), Aquaria KLCC and Langkawi's Underwater World. Never thought anyone would keep these monsters at home!

It really makes me wonder why would anyone want to keep these monsters... they get so big.. and when u wanna get rid of it you need a crane to get it out and where does it end up ? In the zoo ??? Unless your house is like Aquaria KLCC then I really have nothing to say lar........

Can sell to chicken farm or duck farm. Remember i saw a chicken farm in my home town keeping few of this giant monster. And they feeding them with dead chicks...

I have also seen them at the following locations:
  • FRIM pond in front of the main office.
  • Xian Leng. In the pond nearest the entrance.
  • Giant Plentong (JB). Cool because it's like a huge aquarium and you can view it from the side.
