not staghorn snails.. staghorn algae. I read there's almost no way to get rid of these except by manually removing them. Lazy lah. I also read rosy barbs eat thread algae... thought maybe they eat these staghorn too. This staghorn is like a disease lah, whatever parameters also can grow, but their growth rate mainly depend on availability of light it seems. Once infected have to tear down the tank and sterilize everything. Lazy lah. Somemore glossoes growing nicely :/

I've already read that article dom. My siamensis too lazy to eat it. Prefers bloodworms. I have SAEs and SFF... both won't eat. Have yamato, otos, cherry, all also won't eat. I need some heavy duty bugger. Maybe american flagfish.

Hi Soyadude,

Some say you need to weaken the algae before the fish or shrimp will eat it.
A shringe and some 3% H2O2[hydrogen peroxide] will knock it off balance and allow algae eater to palate it.
I soak my plants in some H202 to rid it of the hair algae. i must say it works.
