Boraras brigittae more elongated and slimmer. Dark spot at caudal-fin base not clear.
![]() Boraras urophthalmoides more stouter. Dark spot at caudal-fin base are clear. The scientific name, urophthalmoides means caudal-fin base has eye-like spot. ![]() The pictures above are taken from other website. |

aiks. that's interesting but could it be that my pix is motion blurred and the fish are not mature and well fed?

Hmmm from the source of where the fish came from (north of the Malay peninsular, Northern Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia) I'm pretty certain it has to be Boraras uropthalmoides (aka the false B.brigittae or exclaimation mark rasbora).
The REAL red B.brigittae hails from South Borneo... Pangkalanbun in Kalimantan. There's quite a few B.uropthalmoides going around atm... No real B.brigittae that I know of yet currently available. Last edited by kevkoi : 12-06-2006 at 07:24 PM. |

Boraras brigittae would be my first choice.. but I would not mind having the Boraras uropthalmoides as well.. I do not really see any LFS selling such fish.. besides as mentioned YT's place which is quite far away.. :P
