Yeah, there are a lot of really cool Australian and PNG (Papua New Guinea) species, especially the rainbowfish and blue eyes. Check out this forum if you want to learn more: http://bowheads.org/
There are a couple of breeders here in the US that have some really nice rainbowfish. I have a school of Melanotaenia affinis (Pagwi strain) that I just got in December. They're juveniles, so they're not fully colored up and not even close to full grown, but they're already very pretty fish, and really cool to watch when they flash their breeding stipes!
