There was this scottish lady who published a book, I think it was titled Fishes of Sarawak. I saw it in an article on the Star paper. She said that she found pleco in Sarawak! She said something about the commonly called "Bandaraya" fish. I think it might be an introduced fish though.

Hi Ranchu,

I'm from Sarawak too but 350km away from Kuching. I miss these kind of wild and so called lost world of unpolluted streams. It reminds me of my childhood, many many years ago. I used to catch a type of fish in a small stream beside my father's koko farm. This fish looks like tetra, with a receptor line at the centre which devide the upper and lower body continuosly from head to tail. The colour of the fish is between maroon and red. Have u ever caught a fish like wat I described? I don see it at the LFS. Oh ya, its body shape looks like scissors' tail but smaller. I really miss tat fish. Got plenty in aquarium last time before they all "surrendered to heaven". Even now its hard to catch "sepat biru" in my town becoz the Majlis Daerah keep on converting longkang to cement type.
