you can put female(s) along side with the current betta you have but in a bigger tank with loads of space to swim about..he won't kill the females but would definately engage in a fight if he encounters a male.

if you say 2 big goldfishes in the current bowl,i suggest not. There won't be enough space for both.you can keep small little ones but you gotta change tank if they get any bigger..

Hmmm.......if you are new to fish keeping, I'd suggest you to keep away from gold fish until you become more experienced. As nice as gold fish may look, they are not very forgiving if the water condition is not right. To find out more about gold fish, do some reading in the gold fish section...

As for getting females........well, you will want to get more than just one female or the male will keep on harassing just this one female. 6 or 7 females will be good because the pecking order will be more dispersed rather than a targetted individual. But for that, a bowl, even a large one is hardly sufficient.

Try to refrain from getting too much in too short of a time. Enjoy just your one betta at the moment and as you gain more experience then you can get more. I know it's easier said than done but in the long run, you'll enjoy fish keeping more. It's a very addictive hobby, I know!
