It looks like a betta to me or a fighting fish...and it's a male. The colour looks a bit run down though.....
Erm, you definitely wouldn't want to keep any other fishes with this one, as the name suggest...it's a fighting fish...... Anyway, the bowl is way to small to support so many fish what more to say goldfish (waste factory)

hello there..
freakmaster is right...it's a betta/fighting fish!!a male fighting fish...you can't keep other fishes with the one you have right now but if you insist, get few female bettas but in a larger bowl/jar/tank... well,to enchance the coloration of the fish you have,i suggest you feed it with bloodworms(live or frozen)...don't think you can feed goldfishes with blood worm because of they are prone to bladder diseases and so... well forum-ers,please correct me if i'm wrong!!cheers |

In a bowl like that, it is too small to add any other fish, including a female betta as she will be killed.
Bettas are a tropical fish so they will need to be kept warm. They may be fine living like that in summer, but come winter they will find it very uncomfortable living in an unheated bowl. A better fish to keep in an unheated bowl would be the Paradise fish, but then, the choice is really up to you. U have a yellow veiltail betta. (he's not pale in coloure... that is his colour). They will benefit from some frozen bloodworms or even freeze dried worms. |
