AHA!! Now I know you haven't been to Jalan Pasar, off Jalan Pudu. It's not that lousy place at the Central market.
Take out a stree directory and look for Jalan Pasar, off Jalan Pudu.... Basically you go past the Pudu bus station and keep going down Jalan pudu, go past pudu jail and keep going, it's about 5Km after Pudu Jail on your left. It's an open air market with lots of fish stores outside. Open everyday and lotsa cheap fish there. Another place to look is Aquatics International. There's where all the fish shops get their fish from (wholesaler, importer/exporter). They're in Subang. After the old international airport, go past terminal 3 and head towards Sungei Buloh, they're mid way between the terminals and the stretch of nurseries. ..... aha! Looks like I know my fishy places in KL better than you. |

For your information, my car is in ipoh and i am now in sj. I need to take public transport whenever i want to go downtown. 5 km from pudu jail seems a bit too far for me to WALK. Guess i gotta take a taxi or bus. Anyway thanks for your guide.

oh... looks like AI will be out of the question for you without a car then.
As for public bus, don't ask me what numbers to take... I'm absolutely clueless 'bout that. Cab drives would know where Jalan Pasar is from Pudu. Will cost you no more than RM5 to get there. Will be worth your time.... seriously. |

Hey...i had went to those aquarium shops on jalan pasar. I went there by STAR LRT as there is a station nearby . Most of them are selling flower horns but there is one which sells a vareity of tropical fishes. The fishes there are soooooo pretty, still i am not lucky enough to find other types of puffers but nvm. Thanks again for ur info, kevkoi.

Aiyoh... now they oso start selling flowerhorn liao ah?
Sigh..... Eh, there was a shop selling marine fishes along Jalan Pasar.... didn't they have any puffers or couldn't you ask them to get some for you? I was up in Darwin Australia (northern most point of Australia where the temperature is exactly like in Malaysia... hot and humid), and I went to some mangrove extuary places (to feed fish), and saw some pretty big puffers in the water. Even saw a huge 12inch Mangrove Jack.... |

Hey, I brought 3 big green spotted puffers from jln pasar for only Rm2 each and i had also brought 15 baby walking catfish for Rm1. You will want to ask why why am i buying those catfish. They look so cute and adorable so i plan to put it in my pond. hehe. Anyway my collection of brackish fishes increases when i add another 2 ruby scats into my tank. Now i have green, silver and red scats.
I don't want to buy marine fishes from there because there is a marine fish dwealer in sj. I think it would be much cheaper for me to buy marine puffers from sj here. |
