u never went to jln pasar? that is the famous place for fishes.. there are around 10+ lfs... selling all kind of things. like normal 4ft tank without the wall paper...selling for RM40 only. filter, sponge...etc. Beside that, you can find vigra, vibrator...etc

That place very crowded on sat n sun. They open the shop around 9am-3pm only...and most of the fishes cheaper than other lfs... but u need to choose carefully, coz some of them might carried with disease...or not healthy.

Wah...u orang kaya. goto Pet Wonderland n Ikano for fishes! wish u good luck. You might pay double price for a guppy...

Sanwa is located in sg buluh lor...

i m going to jln pasar again on sat morning. you can drop me a call if you wanna join.

was not planning to buy in ikano or petwonderland, just to have a look, those places sure cut throat expensive.....
Jalan pasar is quite faraway from where i stay, preferably i would like to avoid kl during weekends. enough of travelling up and down on weekdays.
i am fully booked this weekend.... but i might go there and have a look next month or so..... will definitely try jalan pasar when i am ready to buy.... some shops in klang are pretty reasonable too... will let u know after i do my comparison with jalan pasar and let u know
by the way, how old are u? workign, studying??
i am 25, workign already....

For me, I park my car in Star LRT station. Then take the LRT to Pudu. From the Pudu LRT station just across a road and you will reach jln pasar. Less than 5 min walk only...

Sometime, u need to spend more time to hund for fishes. Just like me, I go all the places...jln pasar, sentul, setapak, gombak, ss2-uyie, pdn indah - 88 marine, ampang - bb18....etc. sometime i dont mind to pay for a bit more for a healthy fish.

oh...not good enough to ask for personal detail in here lar. you can pm me.. (btw, i am a very old fella...5 yrs older than u. working in cyber jaya...)

about the aquarium, is there any aspect of it that i should pay extra attention to? will a typical filtration system good enough for a planted aquarium? or is there a special system for plants? i read some where that the filtration system should not be those top of the tank type.... and etc.

yes...normally ppl didnt use the overhead filter or sump tank filtering system. It is recommended to use canister like Ehiem, Fluval,...etc brand.

for planted tank basically you need:
Tank
gravel/soil
canister or internal filter or hang on filter
CO2 cylinder or DIY CO2
Lighting
Fertilizer
CO2 reactor and refuser

is those type suitable for a planted tank?
how expensive and complicated is a CO2 system and lighting?
its a pity you stay so far away.......
otherwise i would definitely drop by your place for a visit.....

that is what we called the sump tank filtering system. It is not recommended for planted tank also.
It is depends on how many liter of the cylinder of CO2 you wanna buy. Or you can get the Nutrafin one...but that is able to support 2ft tank only. cost about RM40-60. Need to refill everymonth. 1 time refill cost RM12-14.
if 2.5L alominium cylinder with solenoid cost about RM700-800.
Lighting is depends on how big is yr tank. How many gallon... I forgotten how many per watt... it is calculate like that.

just like my 4ft tank...around 200 liter. need at least, 160Watt... So i need to get 4x40W light bulb for my tank.

far?? hahahaa...u also stay in kl.. where got far? imagine i m traveling to cyber jaya everyday...go n back.
