The "Batik Kamfa" smells of a male A.festae to me.
Perhaps u should consider getting yourself some pure bred A.festae. They're STUNNING STUNNING FISH!! Of course, then the spelling for the fish becomes more complicated... "Amphilophus festae" (18 characters in latin) instead of "Batik Kamfa" (10 characters in a mix of malay and cantonese). Below is a link to pics of a stunning pair of festae in breeding condition. Front red fish is a female, at the back is the male. These are NOT flowerhorns mind you... These are pure A.festae. Found in the wilds of Ecuador looking like this. http://www.aquamojo.com/festae/Festae%20182b.jpg |

LOL
Those Festaes are really good-looking kevkoi...yes I know they are not flowerhorns haha...but I haven't been around much in fish shops and breeders and hardly could find any...seems strange for a pair to look like this...the female colourful but small and the male plain green grey but big hehe...currently I'm preparing my tank for a vieja argentea...oh, regani is my favourite too... Don't worry guys, I'm not supporting flowerhorn business, those fishes are the last I will ever have...it happens that these creatures are the closest I so far can come to see in a wild purebred species...can hardly get hold of them in LFS around PJ...but at least a good thing they are not as hyperaggressive as those flowerhorns... cheers, funkychips
