   Some basic info on the fish species: The Protomelas taeniolatus "Namalenje" (commonly known as the Red Empress), is a cichlid originating from Lake Malawi (one of the Rift Lakes in East Africa). Classified under the Hap group of Malawi cichlids. The Red Empress is a geographic variant of the Protomelas taeniolatus species, and is found at Namalenje. P.S.
