Default Peacock fight!

Well, some fighting anyway -> some mouth-to-mouth action & a bit of chasing around, but mostly just displaying & displaying & displaying & displaying ... until the 'defeated' peacock goes elsewhere. And then more displaying later on!

The story? I transferred the Baenshi "Nkhomo Reef" to the same tank as the wild-caught Baenshi peacock = instant fighting! A real treat really, but you can see that my wild-caught Baenshi is slightly injured around the mouth area. Some torn fins for both peacocks too.

The Baenshi "Nkhomo Reef" is the fish with the blue face. The wild-caught Baenshi is fully yellow coloured.

Here are some displaying shots:

When he was first put into the tank (Day 1) ... look at how aggressive the wild-caught Baenshi is! He's trying to intimidate the newcomer ...

Day 2 shots ...

Here are some profile shots made on Day 2:

The Victor
(noticed that he is showing better colours compared to the Day 1 photo)

The 'Defeated'
(notice the damage around the mouth area? Ouch!)

Comments welcomed!

Well in your case, the dispute is more or less settled. For my tanganyikans, the majority of the fish are not fighters. They just get chased away violently by the resident taikor.
