The bio-balls is not meant to replace the coral chips. Actually both can home beneficial bacteria. Only thing is I use coral chips in addition to bio-balls because I want my water pH to be high. And coral chips can buffer the water.

Trickle tower works in principle like a wet/dry filter where the trickling water is oxygenated for beneficial bacteria to propagate. I only know about these filters for indoor aquariums. Do not know about ponds.

anyway thanks creep for the info....do u know where i can buy cheep bio balls coz i wanna diy my trinkle tower......thinking wanna built around 7 foot high.....so that i can feed more to my fish and to cope with their rapid growth.....i dont think by end of this year my filter system can cope with that amount of fishes....anyway....since ive lack of cash last month i bought a cheap UV filter for RM100......but i guest its not strong enough and i think this what make my pond slightly greenish (but not as green as before)....so how do i know which UV filter to used?

Great to see improvements. Could be better huh? Should pack your filter with bio-media. Cheaper bio-balls? Don;t really know man, haven't been checking prices. Try Taman Desa Aquarium.

Keep the UV filter running all the time. Try to get one suitably large for your pond.

Woah, a 7 feet high trickle filter? The filter media will cost $$$! BTW, sure you got the space? Your pond area looks quite busy hahah.
